About the Role We are actively seeking a skilled and detail-driven Remote Billing & Coding Specialist to join our growing healthcare operations team. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, supportive environment where your contributions directly impact operational efficiency and revenue cycle performance. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring accurate coding, timely claims submission, and compliance with payer requirements—helping to deliver seamless financial experiences for patients and providers alike. Key Responsibilities: ✔️ Accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for medical diagnoses and procedures ✔️ Prepare, review, and submit clean claims to insurance carriers via EHR and billing platforms ✔️ Conduct insurance eligibility verification and benefit checks ✔️ Manage claim denials and rejections, including timely follow-ups and appeals ✔️ Collaborate with providers, payers, and patients to resolve billing discrepancies ✔️ Maintain compliance with HIPAA and insurance regulations ✔️ Support AR reconciliation, documentation audits, and monthly reporting Qualifications Required: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical billing and/or coding Strong working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and payer-specific coding rules Experience with insurance billing processes, including Medicare and Medicaid Proficiency in EHR and billing software (e.g., Kareo, Epic, Athena, AdvancedMD) Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting Preferred: Certification (e.g., CPC, CPB, CCA, or CCS) Prior experience in a remote medical billing or coding role Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Why Join Us? 100% Remote Work – Work from anywhere in the U.S. with a stable internet connection ⏰ Flexible Scheduling – Choose a full-time or part-time schedule that suits your lifestyle Professional Development – Ongoing training, certification reimbursement, and advancement opportunities Comprehensive Benefits – Health, dental, vision, PTO, 401(k) for eligible team members Mission-Driven Culture – Be part of a values-led organization focused on healthcare access and equity
