Your Impactful Role as a Credentialing Data Entry Specialist The Credentialing Data Entry Specialist plays a vital role in our organization, responsible for assisting with filing and maintaining the files of physicians, allied health professionals, data entry into credentialing software, and other key clerical functions of the Credentialing Department. The successful candidate will be assisting with attestations for the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) Universal Data Base, creating files for providers, answering requests for documents, and filing documents with proper discretion. Key responsibilities include: Communicating with external and internal customers to complete requests for practice verifications on required excel spreadsheets for providers and practice locations. Printing and faxing documents upon request as needed. Assisting with restructuring the Credentialing files of providers at the Credentialing Manager’s discretion. Providing exceptional customer service and responding to requests in a timely and professional manner. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: Education: High School Degree or College Degree preferred. Technical Skills: Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Anodyne Analytics, and Athena software. Certifications: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred. In addition to these technical skills, we are looking for individuals who possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are highly organized, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands of this role include sitting for long periods, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, and talking or hearing. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and may need to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copy machine, computer, and other office equipment as necessary. The work environment is typically moderate, with some stress and pressure to meet deadlines. The ability to deal with aggressive, hostile, and sometimes irrational behavior of patients and family members is essential, and the successful candidate must be able to respond to all patients in a calm and professional manner.
