Genetic Counselor Assistant Remote

This a Full Remote job, the offer is available from: United States The Women’s Health and Genetics division of Labcorp is seeking a Genetic Counselor Assistant (GCA) to join their team! This is an exciting opportunity to provide support to our labbased Genetic Counseling team in various areas including: client services, send outs, and reporting. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and excellent customer service skills. This position will be supporting Labcorp’s Research Tringle Park, NC genetics laboratory. The schedule for the position will be: MondayFriday, 9am6pm eastern time zone. Note: this is a fully remote position. Candidates can be located anywhere in the US, however, they must be able to work eastern time zone hours. Responsibilities: • Work with the lab Genetic Counselor team to support clients that order testing performed at Labcorp’s Center for Molecular Biology and Pathology • * Responds to telephone and email inquiries from Labcorp clients, health care providers, Labcorp’s laboratories and branches to coordinate all applicable genetic testing • * Contacts clients to obtain pertinent demographic and clinical information and communicates with clients to ensure that the appropriate testing is ordered • * Researches, troubleshoots, and resolves any problems related to testing by contacting clients or other LabCorp facilities • * Responsible for performing administrative duties such as data entry, databaselog maintenance, filing, and faxing of reports • Requirements: • Bachelors degree in a biological life science • * Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite • * Strong multitasking ability with excellent attention to detail • * Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent ability to listen and respond effectively • * Strong flexibility and the ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities quickly • * Excellent project management skills • * Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others and work cooperatively and effectively to set goals, resolve problems and make recommendations • Preferred Requirements: • Previous experience working as a Genetic Counselor Assistant • * Previous experience working in a molecular laboratory or clinical genetics setting • * Previous experience in the healthcare industry such as a hospital or physician’s office • * 2 years’ related Customer Service experience • * Familiarity with genetics concepts • * Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) • Application Window: 7162025 Pay Range: $25.50 $33.00 hour All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degreescertifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
