People Operations Manager About the Company Red Rabbit is the largest Black-owned K-12 School Food Management Company in the country. In this capacity, we work with with hundreds of schools, districts, and food banks to uplift communities of color throughout the North East and Mid-Atlantic Regions. Since 2005, our professionally trained chefs have created menus, sourced farm fresh ingredients, and cooked delicious, thoughtful, and familiar food. Our food matters not only because it’s integral to good health, but because what kids eat is an essential part of their cultural identity and sense of self. The Role The People Operations Manager (POM) is part of the People & Development department, whose primary goal is to ensure our teams feel needed and appreciated. This role provides a unique opportunity to be a part of a fast growing Black-owned organization committed to building a safe and inspiring workplace for our BIPOC employees. The POM will be responsible for supporting Red Rabbit’s operations leaders, managing HR fundamentals and talent management efforts. The People Operations Manager will be the functional leader for a team of People Operations Associates to uplift and support Red Rabbit leaders in a systematic way, ensuring team and manager are in professional alignment, and advocating for employees to create opportunities for growth. Reporting to the office of the Chief Business Officer the People Operations Manager supports a team of 200+ employees across urban centers in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded HR professional or Social Worker who has a passion for social justice in the workplace. Key Responsibilities • Operations Management: Advise, coach and counsel operations management on employee relations issues, and formulate specific measurable actions to help them resolve issues, increase effectiveness, build relationships and achieve business goals. • Employee HR Support: Drive HR functional excellence and process improvement. Support employees. Manage the HRIS system ensuring the integrity of all data entry. Administer various HR policies and procedures. • Administrative Duties: Manage the HRIS system ensuring the integrity of all data entry. Develop internal recruiting strategies for open positions. Collaborate with managers to identify recruitment needs. Assist with the on-boarding experience with managers and serve as the key resource for new hires as they acclimate to Red Rabbit. Skills Required • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Human Resources or relevant certifications • 4+ years Case Work experience or HR experience, preferably in a Hospitality/Restaurant or School environment. • 3+ years management experience of a team of 3 or more • Has expertise in HR policies and procedures, best practices and current regulations. • An entrepreneurial spirit and desire to be part of a growing, mission-based company • Must share our passion for building equity for BIPOC children and improving nutrition in schools • Must have excellent communication skills and be extremely well organized. • Proficient in Spanish a big plus!
