Per Diem – Evening-Night Shift Admissions Representative – Amazon Store

You’ll be the first point of contact for hospital patients and will be responsible for guiding them through the admission process. You’ll record information relating to the patient's health status, payment information, and attending physician as well as answer hospital-related questions. Additionally, you’ll learn hospital services information to better help patients and contribute to the facility’s smooth daily operations.Job Responsibilities:1. Interviews patient or representative to obtain demographic information and presenting symptoms.2. Communicates with the attending physician and obtain an order to admit prior to accepting a case.3. Explains patients’ rights and hospital regulations, such as visiting hours, payment of accounts, and schedule of charges.4. Verifies and obtains all authorizations and necessary pre-certifications from insurance companies.5. Obtains all necessary consent treatment records and benefits (assignments)records.6. Completes financial folders with copies required.7. Keeps informed of all new registration procedures.8. Performs quality reviews on all financial files daily.9. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety environmental and infection control standards.10. Notifies supervisor concerning admissions that do not meet the hospital financial policy criteria.QUALIFICATION:High School Diploma or equivalent and some college course work preferred.Specific Preparation:Specific Preparation includes an occupationally significant combination of or essential experience in hospital admission or customer relation. On the job training or equivalent training in the admitting process. Be familiar with medical terminology. Be proficient in using a typewriter and computer for data processing.
