Remote Senior Estimator/Estimator (Structural/Misc Steel)

Job Title: Senior Estimator/Estimator (Structural/Misc Steel) Location: Houston, TX Salary: $60,000 - $100,000 Industry: Structural Steel Fabrication and Erection Core Function: To be responsible for estimating project costs using customer-provided documents and drawings. This role involves ensuring accurate material, labor, and vendor cost estimations to meet project scope requirements. Responsibilities: • Perform lump sum “Takeoff” of material, labor, and vendor costs using design drawings and specifications. • Communicate with General Contractors to clarify project requirements and timelines. • Request and manage vendor quotes for materials and services. • Review project specifications to ensure full scope coverage in estimates. • Provide the estimating manager with a detailed Scope of Work, inclusions/exclusions, and qualifications for proposal submission. • Track bid progress and follow up with contractors on bid awards. Requirements: • High School diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the steel fabrication industry. • Ability to read and interpret Structural/Architectural drawings. • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and experience with Blue Beam and On-Screen Takeoff. • Knowledge of AISC practices, Construction standards, and procedures from award to closeout.
