About the position Responsibilities • Provide general administrative support for the office, including answering phones, mail handling, purchasing, and travel reimbursement processing. • Assist in maintaining office operations, including phone coverage for the office manager during breaks and absences. • Help prepare materials for presentations and meetings. • Coordinate project activities, analyze program performance, and maintain accurate digital records. • Communicate effectively with stakeholders via email and phone calls. • Assist with the intake and processing of award nominations for the Texas Treasure Business Award. • Provide excellent customer service and answer questions from the public about business awards. • Provide comprehensive support for event planning, including the Real Places Conference and other CHD events. • Deliver exceptional customer service to conference registrants, speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors. • Provide on-site support for the event planner during the Real Places Conference. • Assist in scheduling and coordinating various meetings, conferences, workshops, and seminars for CHD programs. Requirements • Graduation from an accredited college or university and at least one year of relevant experience in event planning and/or program and project management. • Demonstrated success in project management, customer service, written and verbal communication, and record keeping. • Proficiency in using spreadsheets, databases, and other information management tools. • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record. Nice-to-haves • Two years of relevant program support work experience. • Expertise in website Content Management Systems (CRM), Asana, SharePoint, Cvent Event Platform, Neon CRM, or the ability to quickly learn new software systems. • Demonstrated interest and experience with historic preservation, public history, city planning, or related work.
