Proofreader/Editor (Remote) - Part-Time - - Santa Ana, CA - work from home job Company: Job description: We are seeking a freelance Proofreader/Editor to help with an ongoing project updating vehicle technology/controls quick guides and owner’s manuals for a global automaker. This is a one-month booking, fully remote and ~20 hours per week. Proofreader/Editor Responsibilities: • Cross referencing previous versions of technology guides/owner manuals against the new ones, ensuring information is accurate and updated. • Ensuring the technology guides reflect the information found in the product information documents. • Utilizing Adobe Acrobat to mark-up necessary changes and re-route back to designer to make changes. • Proofread all documents and ensure correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Proofreader/Editor Qualifications: • Previous experience (3+ years) as a production assistant, proofreader, copy editor or fact-checker. • Proficient using Adobe Acrobat to markup PDF's. • Previous experience proof-reading and fact checking documents for accuracy. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. • Ability to work effectively offsite. • Great communication skills (written/verbal) Employer Details: • Onward Search is an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to a policy of non-discrimination in an employment with regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status or any other classification protected by federal, state and local laws and ordinances.
