Join Verizon as a full-time 6-month Network Security Co-op, contributing to cybersecurity and network automation projects in a hybrid work environment. Your Role Here’s what you will be doing: • Contribute to strengthening the security of the Verizon Edge network, including network fabrics, routers, and route reflectors. • Engage in cybersecurity, penetration testing, network programming, automation, and scripting tasks. • Develop automation to manage standard processes and create operational playbooks. • Work with multiple operating systems such as Linux and Windows. • Utilize programming languages and technologies including Python, Java, JavaScript/Typescript, React, NodeJS, NextJS, expert systems software, and software automation tools (ML, AI, IA, RPA, Ansible). • Perform system administration and network management including OS design, installation, maintenance, patching, troubleshooting, monitoring, and upgrades. • Manage databases such as Oracle SQL, MySQL, and MS SQL. • Support information assurance, intrusion prevention, cloud security infrastructure, policies, and standards. • Handle data administration and security including data classification, loss prevention, privacy, and incident review. • Manage identity and access management systems including MFA, SAML 2.0, SSO, LDAPs/Directories, and Active Directory. • Participate in incident response, management, and triage activities. • Work on external/internal network security and perimeter security. • Collaborate within the Network Security team and participate in Verizon’s Co-op Marquee event for professional development and networking. About You The company is looking for: • Current enrollment in a UT Dallas Bachelor’s degree program in Cybersecurity, Network Security, Computer Science, Telecommunication, IT, Engineering, Wireless Technologies, High-Frequency Design, Artificial Intelligence, or related major. • Expected degree completion between December 2026 and June 2027. • Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) from January 12, 2026 to June 26, 2026. • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship. • Willingness and ability to travel and relocate as needed. • Motivated self-starter with flexibility, dependability, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. • Preferred qualifications include previous internship or co-op experience, engineering major, familiarity with cybersecurity, penetration testing, network programming/automation/scripting, and telecommunication fields. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving team environment. Compensation & Benefits • Participation in Verizon’s 401(k) Savings Plan with dollar-for-dollar company match on the first 6% of contributions. • Holiday pay, as applicable.
